Fishermen Attend War They Say Excludes Them
A Boston Globe reader known as Brassy argues in a letter that fishermen are harmed not by the foes they face but by market structure. He claims vessel costs run 5000 to 10000 dollars, crews of 12 to 24, and profits favor owners, with Boston offering forty dealers versus Gloucester’s single buyer, urging open competition for fair wages.
