Train robbed near Bryant station by two highwaymen
Two highwaymen held up a west bound Southern railway passenger train near Bryant station twenty five miles west of Birmingham tonight and escaped with a large amount of money. Deputies with dogs have gone to the scene.

The Hon. Henry L. Pierce died last night at his friend Thomas Bailey Aldrich's house in Mount Vernon Street after a two week illness. He planned wintering in the West Indies aboard his yacht Hermione, which lay at South Boston. He collapsed from paralysis while visiting Aldrich, never regained consciousness, and died quietly with many gathered friends and family nearby. Funeral will be Monday from King's Chapel with public exercises, interment in Old Dorchester burial ground. he left no wife or children.
