Post Santa needs thousands more to fund gifts for poor children. Delays in contributions slowed the effort today as volunteers from across Greater Boston were sent home with no bundles to sort. If funds are not raised by Saturday, many children will wake to empty stockings.

In Proctorsville Vermont Charles Krasofsky leaped from a fast moving car onto the cowcatcher of a train at 49 miles an hour as it struck his car. He clung on until the engineer halted the locomotive and the car was pushed 80 feet ahead before overturning. His companion John Cichanowitz sustained a broken leg and bruises but will recover.
In Proctorsville Vermont two Springfield men narrowly escaped death after their car was struck by a train near Rutland Railroad station. Driver Thomas Cci chanowoeny was hurled against the station while passenger Charles Krasofsky was dragged fifty feet under the locomotive pilot. Both suffered only fractures to the left leg.
Levi Meuse, 35, a Wakefield lineman, was shocked repeatedly atop a electric 4600 volt line at Pleasant and Emerald streets while repairing after an ice storm. His brother William, also a lineman, helped him to the ground as hospital exam showed severe burns. recovery expected.
Police hunt trio of gunmen who robbed seaman James G. Patterson of 60 dollars and burglarized Mrs Sophronia Sumner’s Bradford street home of 70 dollars. Patterson wounded in leg while fleeing. he is at Chelsea naval hospital in good condition.
In Northampton on December 16 Elisha Vineea of New Salem struck and instantly killed Leo Malek a Wadley boy aged 12 as he attempted to cross Hadley Street. icy roads prevented braking and Vineea swerved to avoid the child but the auto crossed the street and struck him.
Wolfe Lindenfeld alias William Linde was arrested in Warsaw at the request of the American Department of Justice. Police say he confessed involvement in the New York Wall Street explosion of September 16, 1920 and that he was promised $30,000 for a role in the plot.
Silvester Cosgrave of the Department of Justice said Lindenfeld has agreed to turn State's evidence and cooperate with authorities. The arrest of the suspect was made at the department's request.
