Blaze from Wet Paper Causes Major House Fire
Thomas Burke of 24 High Street Everett reports a blaze started by placing wet paper on a furnace and leaving it open. The fire caused 4700 in losses across a two family dwelling with 2200 to Burke and 1800 to Davis plus 700 to Burke for total 4700. flames spread between partitions and damaged most of Davis furniture while Burke suffered water damage.

Henry Clay Barnabee died at his Jamaica Plain home in his 84th year after a fall fractured hip. A famed comic opera star and founder of The Bostonians, he was born in Portsmouth in 1833 and rose from a dry goods clerk to a premier performer. Funeral at St. John's Jamaica Plain, burial in Portsmouth. He married Clara George in 1859. she died in 1909.

Shooting on School Street Leaves Man Hospitalized
Patrick Dowd 26 of 40 Eastern Avenue Revere was shot in the abdomen and taken to Massachusetts General Hospital in critical condition after a confrontation with Palomia Caponi near School Street and Eastern Avenue.
