Dr. Sidorio Paes, President of Portugal, was shot three times while waiting for a train to Oporto at a Lisbon railway station shortly before midnight Saturday. Advices from Lisbon confirm the assassination.

A crowd of Amsterdam women attacked the former German town prince on Wierengen Island. Frederick William reportedly fled to escape the mob. Police action afterward led to a German baron staying at a local hotel and the women returning to Amsterdam.
