Woman in disguise held after auto purchase ruse
Ethel Kimball posed as John Hathaway to buy an automobile with her partner Louise Marguerite Rechtler. Police traced the pair from Brighton to Boston after suspicions arose. Kimball, a noted forger and thief, was identified by Captain Armstrong, with Rechtler left in tears after custody. The two face arraignment for their cross gender deception and alleged fraud.
