Tragedy at Old Heath and Pynchon Streets Construction Site
A bucket fell from a derrick at the Stony Brook water course project injuring two workers. Henry Leo suffered a skull fracture and lacerations while Giovanni Mazzarelli received a severe scalp laceration, a fractured thigh and internal injuries. Mazzarelli is on the dangerous list at City Hospital. Leo, married, lives at 56 Endicott Street.

Freestone Sinks in Long Island Sound with All Hands Lost
The schooner Freestone owned by Port land Quarry Co of Portland Conn from Greenport sank six miles from Faulkner's Island in Long Island Sound on Thursday night. All crew from Greenport perished including first mate Thomas McAvoy steward Charlies Schuman and commander Edward Bushnell. An unidentified schooner reported from Madison Conn as lost is believed to be the Freestone.

Horses Burned in Jamaica Plain Stable Fire
Four horses perished when flames swept Nicholas Sherry's livery stable at 14 Green Street Jamaica Plain shortly after midnight. The two story frame building owned by Patrick Meehan suffered 2500 in a loss to the structure and 2000 to the contents. The fire was out by 2 am with neighbors fearing spread to nearby properties.
