A Marblehead express train, traveling at high speed and about a half hour late, collided with a shifting engine at the East Everett crossing of the Boston and Main last night just before 8. The event follows the Old Farmer's Prediction for bright, cold, and windy weather today and tonight.

Senator Simmons of North Carolina reintroduced the soldier bonus bill as an amendment to the administration shipping measure. He argued the bonus for soldiers is as justifiable as a bonus to ship operators in a Senate debate on December 12.

City election returns show James A. Watson leading the Good Government Association slate with 25,367 votes and Brickley second at 23,267 while Healey of East Boston campaigned for the slate and won 19,335. Miss Luscomb highlighted the day as GGA candidates faltered across the field.
Lieutenant-Colonel Frederick L. Bogan tops the School Committee race with 42,172 votes to win re election. William G. O'Hare of Charlestown takes second with 34,325. Roger Hooper, allied with the Public School Association, places third with 21,391 and Walter G. McGauley finishes fourth with 13,308.
