Strike holds up shipping at Boston & Maine port
The freight handlers' strike at the Charles Town Boston & Maine terminal caused a British government bound steamship to be diverted to load elsewhere to prevent delays in food shipments to Farops. Officials warned that all Boston steamers might be sent to Canadian ports if the strike remains unresolved, with several steamships already delayed. The Rimouski, a British ship due to return American troops, moved to East Boston docks for loading.
