Money Market in Boston and New York in Early December
Boston Clearing House loans at 7 to 7.3 percent with demand for 6 percent if paid in alternative money. New York call money around 3 to 4 percent as banks report gains from sub-treasury operations. London money plentiful at 2 percent with Bank of England not raising rates. Market mood cautious with rumors of failures and dull trading, while specific stocks like Reading show activity and Tamarack, Jr. copper lore provokes debate over lode discoveries.
