Sisters of All Saints to Arrive in New York

Incoming English steamer brings three ladies of the Sisters of All Saints order to New York City. Sister Helen will be Lady Superior. she has long been praised in London for charity work and nursing during epidemics and war. The order in London is funded by private generosity and the New York visit stems from a Baltimore clergyman’s letter.

Fire Roars Through Fifth Avenue Motel and Other Blazes

A December 10 New York report cites a blaze at the Fifth Avenue Motel on the upper story causing 100000 in losses. Margaret Fagan died from burns. two others hurt. The same night a White Street fire damaged stock at several firms and damaged the building. Laconia hosiery mill ring fire caused 900 loss, extinguished by mill pumps.
