C C Davis drug store in Walpole New Hampshire was robbed early this morning. Three men drilled and blew open the safe and stole between 7000 and 8000 dollars in bonds notes and securities and cash. Most securities were registered but a 500 dollar Little Rock and Fort Smith railroad bond was unregistered. New London reports a bitter Groton reaction to merchant George S. Avery after Mrs. Giles Avery accuses him of breaking an engagement to wed. A mob smashed his store front and hanged him in effigy Friday, with another hanging on Saturday and the effigy lasting through Sunday. Avery, about 50, denies the charge. warrants are issued for mob leaders as the case goes to court.
