The full text of a new United States Spain commercial treaty was released, detailing tariff concessions and reciprocal duties for Cuba and Porto Rico. Signed November 18, 1900, by John W. Providence Rhode Island December 8 It was learned today that five year old Alyn P Sweet who died November 28 drank nearly two ounces of Laudanum by accident. His physician says the boy was singularly unlucky, crippled for life as an infant, blinded in one eye and partly blind in another at age four, once burned by illumination causing his skin to darken, and the physician notes that if he had lived he would have yellow lie deanen.

Joseph C Mackin secretary of the Cook county democratic central committee was arrested on a charge of aiding an unknown person in substituting over 200 fraudulent ballots for genuine ones at the Nov 4 election in the second precinct eighteenth ward He was held in 10000 bond for examination next Saturday with W C MacDonald and E H Lehman as bondsmen.
John L. Sullivan and A. C. Greenfield face trial on December 16. Reportedly President Arthur would accept a senatorship if Republicans want him, without contesting the seat. Henry Perry a Vermont Boker drowned himself in the North River. his body recovered today. Brooklyn Eagle notes Dr Fulton apologized before Baptist ministers for a previous sermon and was forgiven for lacking any conversion organization for Catholics.
Arbitrator Tucker in the Transcontinental association today announced rate percentages for several lines. Central Pacific 19.5 for passenger and freight, Union Pacific 18.0, Southern Pacific 7.8, Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe 16.5 and 14.0, Atlantic and Pacific 9.8, Denver and Rio Grande 0.40 and 3.2, Burlington and Missouri 3.5 and 4.5, Texas and Pacific 5.0, Galveston and Harrisburg 4.6.

A pearl weighing 93 carats valued at 17000 was shipped to London from Guaymas. The Indian seller found it at Mulhge in Lower California. It is believed to be the largest pearl in existence.
BrroGEroft Connecticut is the source city for P T Barnum who announced receipts totaling 1 400 000 this season, about 100 000 less than the previous year. He noted net profits were not as large but satisfactory overall.

The supreme court rules the Aug. 3 1882 act to regulate immigration valid and constitutional. It holds that if any treaty conflicts with the law the statute prevails in all U S courts. The circuit court decision upholding the law is affirmed. Opinion by Justice Miller.
