Tragic railroad accidents in Worcester area injuries and death

In Worcester Massachusetts Michael Jernelds of New Haven was killed by Norwich and Worcester Railroad cars. A girl, daughter of James Lord of New Worcester, lost both feet after being run over by a Boston and Albany freight train, requiring amputation and likely not to recover. A Worcester Nashua line passenger train derailed with three cars overturned. 250 passengers aboard with no serious injuries.
