Miss Wilder Named Policewoman and Probation Assistant

Miss Josephine Wilder has been appointed policewoman and assistant probation officer and will begin Jan 1. She succeeds Miss Ida R Parker who resigned after four years. Wilder, born in Brookline, has long ties to the Brookline Friendly Society and favors familial, individualized aid over the case method for at risk girls. She will focus on investigations and probation duties rather than street patrols, under Chief Rutherford and Judge Charles F Perkins.
