A large portion of the Colonial Can Company five story brick plant at 28 Pittsburg Street South Boston was burned out in a fire starting just before midnight on the third floor. Three alarms summoned the Peninsular district and downtown apparatus plus two fireboats, with water streams attack from all sides. By 1 oclock the fire was contained to the can plant and damage is estimated at about $20000.

Three Hanover street station officers were injured in a clash with I W W members near North Square last night around eight. The fight involved knives and guns and about twenty shots were fired with no injuries among officers. Four men were arrested.
Officers William Cogan Michael O Hara and Joseph Battis were taken to Relief Hospital after a passing car injured them. Battis was bitten on the right hand while Cogan sustained a severed tendon. Battis and O Hara returned to the station after treatment. Suspects Alfonso Fargotti 22 of Warrenton street Antonio Sinti 33 of Revere Genaro Bruno of North End and Joseph Millillo 24 of North End face charges including attempted killings and profanity.
