Marlboro and Taunton saw unsuccessful re election bids by Shaughnessy and Woods. In Northampton Quincy and Waltham new mayors were elected William H Fetker Republican in Northampton Eugene R Stone Republican in Quincy and Patrick J Duane Democrat in Waltham.
