Redistricting Committee Meets City Hall Tonight

A city committee on redistricting will convene at City Hall this evening at 8 o'clock. In Glenmere, about twenty five stitchers were discharged Wednesday from John McNarire’s shop. They belong to the Stitchers Union and the discharge is alleged to be the cause. A letter from the Lynn Shoe and Leather Association to the Knights of Labor is attached, demanding reinstatement of all workers discharged at Kimber Bros. factory in Lyon pending joint arbitration rulings between the Shoe and Leather Association and the Knights of Labor of Lyon. The letter cites Rules 3 and 4 governing arbitration and non lockouts during disputes, with decisions due within fifteen days.

Watch Stolen from Green Street Shop. Suspect Arrested

Robert Clark reported a watch valued at 106 dollars stolen from his shop on Green street West Roxbury Wednesday evening. Officer Kossman found the watch at a pawn shop on Eliot street and arrested William S. Emerson 19 of Warren Square Jamaica Plain. A prototype vent system by The Other Car Ventilator Company attached to a Boston and Lowell passenger coach impressed Lynn Peabody and Lawrence businessmen and railroad officials during a Boston to Nashua trial. William T. Ober of Lynn designed a revolving fan driven by an endless belt delivering fresh air every twenty seconds. The test prompted the railroad to plan multiple car installations.
