Dock company seeks to stop B&M switching charge
The National Dock and Storage Warehouse Company files again in the Supreme Judicial Court to bar Boston and Maine from collecting a 50 cent per ton switching charge on freight to and from its East Boston wharf. The dock company argues the fee is discriminatory and has contested it before the Interstate Commerce Commission. A separate bill against the Massachusetts Public Service Commission was dismissed. Judge Braley noted the commission acted within its powers and urged enforcement of its decree by the Attorney General.
