James Glynn became trapped between the wall and an elevator in the Converse building at 101 Milk Street late yesterday afternoon. He endured over an hour of pain while firemen and police worked to free him, guiding the rescue without a word of complaint.
Glynn, living on Everett street, Jamaica Plain, was hurt when his elevator car started from the street floor at 6 30. He refused to give his address to rescuers and said his mother was ill. The car stopped abruptly trapping him with his left leg and body against the ceiling frame above the first floor. The safety device halted further movement and no bones were broken according to Relief Station staff.

Mrs. Clarence F. Glover endured nearly seven hours of cross examination by Attorney Melvin M. Johnson in the East Cambridge courtroom. Six students from the Sargent Gymnasium dormitory at 16 Mellen Street Cambridge escaped a blaze that started at 7 45 pm. The landlady Mrs Edith Wiggars saved her two young sons, while the girls lost clothing and some jewelry in about 4500 dollars worth of damage. The fire department arrived 20 minutes late and the occupants helped each other exit before the stairs became impassable.
Dr John C Munro surgeon in chief of Carney Hospital for seven years has been critically ill at his home at 173 Beacon Street for several days and recovery hopes have been practically abandoned.
