A 13 year old boy named Charles B Bailey was found wandering near Haverhill street early this morning. He said he rode from South Chesterville Maine with 30 cents and a ticket bought by Henry Brown to reach the Little Wanderers Home in Boston. He arrived about 5 PM and had slept at the station after wandering all night with only a paper bundle of clothes and two books. He is being cared for at station 1.
Canadian associations and business men push Sir Charles Tupper to present claims before the commission for refunds on alleged excessive duties tied to Canadian day. Maine observers doubt the grounds and timing. Efforts to invite Erastus Wiman of New York to speak to the board of trade on union and reciprocity topics are being organized.
In Cincinnati on December 1 a bronze Garfield statue at Eighth and Race was unveiled after ceremonies at Music Hall. Judge Ezra Taft Taylor spoke, joined by Governor Foraker and General Hunt. The Consolidated road cars will replace transfer cars via West Chester park and more cars are added to the Back Bay line reducing time to under three minutes while all new cars will pass Hotel Vendome. The planned Dartmouth street line change will not occur.
The first of four subscription parties was held last evening at the Hotel Vendome under Messrs. Clarence Poor A. H. Sargent and Charles Piaf in charge. A large fashionable gathering enjoyed itself in grand fashion until a late hour.
Dusit December reports Dublin's high sheriff Sexton elected lord mayor to succeed Sullivan. Sullivan protests his omission from the commission and plans to accompany judges to the assizes, while Sexton vows to resign Dublin authority if blocked. Belfast mayor Hasle Cork mayor O'Brien Wexford mayor Devereaux named. sheriffs nominated for Drogheda Limerick Waterford with O'Brien and others.
Lord Mayor Sullivan seeks adjournment of his second trial over printing Nation reports of suppressed National League meetings. The crown opposes. MP Mr. Sheehy arrested in Sligo prison and to face French Park court on the 15th for examination. Edward Harrington jailed in Tralee for Kerry league reports, bail set for trial. Harrington will be tried Monday. after release he told a crowd he will keep publishing league reports despite threats.
In St Peterspurc and Moscow reports from December 1 describe ongoing hostile press commentary about the Czar and Prince Bismarck. The Moscow dispatch notes claims that if Russian officials misled the Czar they should be dismissed, else the German ambassador should be expelled.
In Dulwich elections Conservative Marple won 4021 votes against Henderson Gladstonian 2609. The Cortes opened in Madrid with Queen Regent Christina reading the throne speech. infant King present. A Lancastrian earthquake shock was felt at Chorley at 7 am with no major damage.
Curiaco Dec 1 The national Prohibition conference approved a plan to base 1888 convention representation on twice as many delegates per state as its Congressional representation. General Clinton B Fisk Mary T Lathrop and ex Governor St John urged reform and attacked two party control. Fisk hailed a Fisk candidacy.

An Augusta man claims State Liquor Agent Howard of Lewiston pays a special U S tax only when selling outside lawful limits. He reports the matter to Governor Bodwell and aims to indict Howard before the Augusta grand jury Tuesday, arguing it shows prima facie evidence of improper conduct.
Alexander Taylor, a New York mail wagon driver, was arrested for systematically robbing the Tyemont branch. Forsythe, another driver, found mutilated letters in a feed bag at the branch, leading to Taylor’s charges and confession. A large quantity of mail matter was found in his room.
At a special Beecher statue fund meeting in Brooklyn New York on December 1 resolutions exonerate Dr. Parker from any charge of improper payment for his Beecher eulogy. The meeting says the confusion arose from conflicting cablegrams and praises Dr. Parker as an honorable Christian gentleman. He is expected to preach at Plymouth pulpit next Sunday.
Currence Dec 1 reports the hanged anarchists will be buried at Mt Greenwood cemetery twenty miles south of the city on the Chicago and Grand Trunk railway. Bodies to be moved quietly a week from tomorrow and interment set for the following Sunday with public demonstrations and pomp.
