The second meeting between the Red Sox and Athletics ended 7 to 4 in favor of Boston. Connie Mack’s club failed to capitalize on its heavy handicap as Jake Stahl’s team displayed gameness and seized the lead.
Boston came from behind to beat their opponents in a tense game after a rough start by pitcher Hugh Bedient. The Red Sox broke away in later innings to secure the win in the wake of a shaky early performance.
Five women and four men were injured last night near the Point of Pines bridge between Lynn and Revere when a car struck a motorcyclist. The impact shattered the car’s steering gear and drove it into a roadside wall. The vehicle, owned by Mrs. Sadie R. Cohen of 645 Beacon Street Boston, was heavily damaged. she was not in the car.
Elmer Galloway and Jake Temple drove from Oxford garage Lynn to Nahant for a band concert and picked up five women and another man bound for Revere Beach. Passengers include Rose Burns Mary Burns Katherine Doherty Bertha Grant Rose Murphy and Joseph Duffey. Galloway suffered a broken nose and facial cuts while Doherty and others sustained cuts bruises and facial injuries from broken glass and trauma.

Four women, two from Boston, and two men were seriously injured in a head on crash on the Atlantic Shore Line street railway at Townhouse Junction Kennebunkport Maine. The crowded passenger car waited on the main line for an express freight car to take a siding when the express brakes failed to work.
A freight express rammed a passenger car crushing two motormen named Edward Clark and Frank Miller. Passengers Estella Bosworth and Edith Reed suffered severe injuries including possible internal damage and fractured ankle. Jennie MacDougal and Mrs. Benjamin Watson sustained serious bruises and leg injuries. All injured were taken to a Biddeford hospital. others escaped with minor bruises.
Colonel Roosevelt declared he would chew Archbold and Penrose hip and thigh in speeches across Vermont. The ex-President hailed as a great crusader spoke in St Albans and an outdoor rally at St Johnsbury drew about 7000 supporters.

Mrs. Emilio Debaro and six of her seven children died when their home burned in Rutherford New Jersey. The father Emilio Debaro and a 13 year old boy escaped by leaping from a second story window.
Police raid on the Lyceum Social and Literary Club at 158 West Forty-fifth Street New York uncovers a membership list of about two thousand men from across the country including Boston. Sam B Hiller the clubs second vice president is under arrest accused as a bookmaker.
Inspector John F. Dwyer led a raid on a local club on Wednesday night. Police destroyed $5000 worth of gambling paraphernalia and furniture. Some members were accused of neglecting the club's literary mission.
Metropolitan Park Commission voted to close the Revere Beach Boulevard to all vehicles for eight days starting tomorrow from 1 to 11 pm. The measure responds to frequent accidents and deaths at the beach this season and the upcoming carnival.
