Salem August 29 hoodlums formed in force and taunted non union workers leaving Lennox factory in Peabody. Police escort met the crowd at the Salem line and dispersed them. stones were thrown at non union workers last night.
Mystic Conn Aug 29 The three days session of the Universal Peace Union ends with a letter from the Chinese minister declining attendance but offering sympathy. The assembly adopts resolutions opposing Chinese exclusion, Jewish expulsion from Russia, and capital punishment.
The Republican town committee issues a call for a caucus in Everett Hall Saturday evening September six to choose delegates to conventions. The Prohibitionists hold a parallel caucus in Society Hall the same night. The Democratic town committee will meet next week to decide on a caucus date.

A telegram reports the death from heart disease of Charles J. Meech, Mayor of Mandan and Democratic candidate for State Auditor. Meech formerly worked with the Mercantile National Bank of Hartford, Connecticut, and died in Mandan, North Dakota.
