Caledonian Club Festival At Fresh Pond Grove Draws Thousands

In Cambridge yesterday the Boston Caledonian Club held its twenty fifth annual festival at Fresh Pond Grove. Some eight thousand attendees arrived by horse car and special trains, with Scots in kilts, bagpipes, reels, and a New York Highland Regiment detachment promoting the day’s athletic contests. Winners awarded cash prizes across events from stone putting to running jumps, with notable guests and a strong security presence guarding the gathering.
