Beecher Sermon at Twin Mountain Draws Large Crowd

Henry Ward Beecher preached the fourth mountain sermon at Twin Mountain House in New Hampshire before a large audience arriving by rail and carriage. Music by White's Band accompanied the service as hymns were printed for distribution. Despite growing hymn-book demand, supplies remain limited for the crowds. Beecher spoke on public worship, social fellowship, and the call to be perfect as the Father in heaven. Notable visitors included Galusha A. Grow, Horace Fairbanks, ex-Gov. William Hendee, W. W. Hall, Frank Jones, and judges Donohue and Wilcox. Daily mountain meetings earlier in the week were noted as usually interesting.
