Prohibitory Convention in Boston Hearings on Temperance

The State Prohibitory Convention met in Boston to survey the political scene and press for universal temperance by a prohibitory law. Morning session featured a cautious start with debates on participation rules and a push for potent measures. Dr A A Miner argued for a well executed law, while others debated nominations and Governor actions amid strong audience sentiment and remarks on the Governor, rum, and political pressures. The day closed with appointment of a committee to draft an address and a plan to reconvene at 1:30 P M.
