Cyrus A. Brown and Matthew Craig were executed in Muskogee I T marking the first hangings of white men in the Territory. Brown killed Daniel Cuthbert near Weber’s Falls after a 1896 dispute, while Craig killed Deputy US Marshal K Beinriche at Tahlequah. Both born in Kansas and faced the scaffold smiling.
