Swedish Captain Faces Loss as Schooner William F Green Sinks

Captain Jonson, a Swedish seaman born forty five years ago, commanded the schooner William F Green built in 18% and 20 tonnage. The vessel left Port au Prince on July 28 after discharging cargo and loading about 300 tons of logwood for Stamford Connecticut. The ship has not been heard from since Aug 9 near Goniaves, and insurance was minimal with a policy expired before the voyage. Captain Jonson, long employed by Green & Company, has a history at sea and recently built a home on Broadway Everett where his two daughters were set to join him.
