San Francisco August 22. Camineth declares he will not deny Lola Norris statement regarding the development. He says he respects Miss Norris and would rather go to jail for life than cast doubt on her testimony.
F Drew Caminetti announced he will take the stand in his Mann Act trial set for next Tuesday in federal court. His companion Maury Diggs was found guilty Wednesday as prosecutors prepare to present Miss Norris's testimony.

Louise Fanny Orleans, 21, of Faneuil near Boston, sank in the Her ring River quicksands at the mouth today while three companions Euna Overing Martha Garrison and Leah Davis struggled to rescue her. Garrison was pulled alive but seriously injured. Nickerson saved the others and alerted Dr. Miller, discovering Orleans had not survived.
Despite many trackers and guides roaming Maine's north and west regions none have seen Artist Knowles known as the Man of the Woods. He hides to avoid contact with hunters keeping to remote areas as weeks of messages appear in the Boston Sunday Post.

J. H. Hustis of the B and A Railroad has been named vice president of the New Haven road. The appointment elevates Hustis to senior leadership in the railway system.
J. H. Hustis vice president of the Boston & Albany was named a vice president of the New York New Haven and Hartford railroad. The appointment takes effect September 1 following a directors meeting today in New Haven Connecticut.
Hustis to head all departments with New Haven HQ. By laws will name Howard Elliott chairman and Hustis will become president of NYNH&H. Dever H. Warner resigns as director. W. Murray Crane elected to replace him. Theodore N. Vail named to executive committee. Elliott to take charge Sept 1 and will spend time with family in Dublin New Hampshire before.
Alphonse Visconte a 10 year old boy was knocked down and run over by an auto express wagon owned by John J. Martin at 36 Saratoga Street East Boston. He suffered severe injuries to his legs and body abrasions.
Aug 22 in Middleton four State police officers and Watch and Ward Society agents raided the Ferncroft Inn arresting the proprietor, manager, and two attaches on charges of illegal liquor sales and maintaining a gambling den. John Doe Mitchell alias Gam was taken on a warrant. Continued on Page 5 Third Column.
State Inspectors Flynn Eustis Sherlock and Keating with Secretary J Frank Chase and two Watch and Ward Society inspectors arrived at the Ferncroft Inn and began a search. Harry K Mansfield proprietor and Charles Johnson manager were arrested on warrants charging them with a crime.
Berlin reports the Kaiser has renounced beer and fine wines after returning from a vacation cruise. He now favors lemonade with orange juice, though he does not impose the beverage on guests who receive the usual wines. The change is described as a personal abstention rather than a formal edict.
Jerome hired by New York officials to secure clemency for Thaw. Prison doctor declares inmate Lane Thompson threatens to confess the entire plot to free Thaw. Thompson says he has been abandoned and will reveal details.

Harry K. Thaw will be deported by Canadian authorities not to New York but to a border state to be chosen by his counsel, with Maine New Hampshire or Vermont as options. The fight shifts to extradition papers from the governor of the new state. Thaw’s mental state deteriorates under captivity and pressure.
