Five Children Drown As Toronto Float Capsizes

A rough timber float used to move workers across a channel at Cherry street broke under a crowd of twenty one children aged 8 to 12. The raft capsized mid channel, many boats aided rescue, three bodies recovered with five children saved.

Collision at Coney Island Kills and Injures Riders

A tallyho coach carrying members of the John Palmer Association of Brooklyn and friends was struck by a trolley car at Coney Island. Fifteen people were injured as the coach was wrecked and occupants were thrown about. Three tallyho passengers are feared dead. The conductor and motorman were arrested.
