Gen Leonard Wood announces the war game ends at 1 o clock tomorrow with the Blue army virtually annihilated by Gen Bliss units. Bliss predicts clearing the Blue army in two hours and says Pew is in a tough spot as of tonight.
Charley Taft, President Taft's youngest son, wrecked an automobile after hitting a tree at Ober and Neptune streets in Beverly this afternoon. He escaped serious injury, suffering only a severe shaking and minor bruises. He is now barred from driving alone and faces similar restrictions on his sailboat.
Eyewitnesses say a Baker electric machine going at a slower speed would have thrown Charley headfirst from the vehicle. He shut off power just before the machine struck a tree trunk near the Taft home entrance after skidding on a wet Ober street gutter. The incident ended with a near miss as the wheels lost traction and the rider slowed the craft.
Regular army officers say Boston is practically captured with General Bliss near the State House. Ninth Regiment is in danger, retreat only option. Coast artillerymen of the 82d Company repelled an attempted landing by invaders at Strawberry Hill Nantasket Hull at 1 45 this morning. The force reached the shore but faced heavy fire from multiple angles and was driven back to sea as transports withdrew to the north.
The yacht Coronet, owned by Rev. Frank Sandford of the Holy Ghost and Us Society, ran ashore off Little Chebeague Island on a foggy afternoon while en route to Freeport. The Maquoit steamed to assist, but a hawser broke and efforts to pull off the vessel were abandoned.

William Andrew McAloon known as Andrew Mack, famed singer and actor, is sued for absolute divorce by his wife Alice Mack. The case is under seal with no plaintiff name disclosed. Leopold W. Harburger serves as referee and hearings took place in his office with Daniel O'Reilly representing McAloon.
The Thompson's Spa thermometer at 219 Washington Street shows yesterday's readings with a range around 59 to 76 degrees and an average temperature comparable to the prior year.

Aug 18 Natick reports William G. Burrows of Watertown leaped in front of the South Framingham express at 8 20 am to pull Laura Carter and her infant from beneath the westward bound train. Burrows crossed an eight foot wall to reach the rails and avert tragedy. George H Carter watched his daughter prove the danger and join the rescue effort.
About 200 yards east of Natick station at 8 20 pm little Ethel Carter wandered from her father s home toward the railroad. Her sister Aura spotted the child in gravel on the tracks and rushed to rescue as a train roared in and brakes shrieked.
