Two Injured In South Boston Factory Explosion
An explosion of a coal oil furnace in a six story South Boston factory caused a fast spreading fire that forced 400 workers to flee. William Whittle was badly burned and Mary Sanders was overcome by smoke. both were taken to City Hospital. The loss reached 140000 and was insured. The building was owned by the Factory Building Trust Company.

E. F. Winslow of Walpole was forced at pistol point to surrender his watch chain and cash in Franklin square near West Newton and Washington streets. Millionaire Sash and Door Maker Shot in Oshkosh
Thomas R. Morgan a wealthy sash and door manufacturer was shot and killed by Frederick Hampel a former employee in Oshkosh Wisconsin. Hampel was overpowered and jailed then hanged himself in custody while awaiting further action. Morgan died en route to the hospital.
