A tidal wave wrecked Altata near Culiacan on the Pacific coast with at least 20 drowned and many more missing. Several smaller towns above Altata were also washed away, causing heavy property loss and dire relief needs. Culiacan will send aid and state and federal governments are urged to act for the destitute.
Beverly August 1 Wilbur Clarke four year old son of Mr and Mrs Harry W Clarke disappeared from Chebacco Lake Essex June 11 with a letter alleging a second kidnapping and offering $5000 for his return The writers give no clues to identity and instruct payment before release Mr Clarke declined to discuss the letter but said he hopes for a possible outcome.
Four hundred Wabash employees bivouacked behind barricades in Pittsburg to block Lake Erie Railway crews from laying tracks to reach warehouse property both lines claim.
