Man slashes at passerby as patrolman halts attack
In South Boston a man identified as James Coffey slashed at pedestrians with a razor near 5 West Broadway. Patrolman James A. O Neill wrestled away the weapon after being injured, Coffey later died in City Hospital from a throat wound. Coffey, 39, from Sharon, had been visiting his sister, Mrs Reed, and ill health was cited as a factor.
