The Montreal Field Battery of 45 members with a 14‑piece band arrived from Montreal at 1140 PM and was greeted at Lowell Depot by the Boston Fusiliers and Boston Brass Band. They were hosted at the American House, quartered at Hancock House, and escorted to City Hall for a welcome by Mayor Lincoln before parading to Charlestown and a banquet. A salute by Boston Light Artillery marked the arrival.
