Captain Kenyon was arraigned for the murder of John McGuinness at Wickford Town Hall. He claimed self defense after an altercation at the grist mill, firing twice with a Winchester rifle. McGuinness died at 7:30 p.m. A postmortem found the bullet penetrated the chest. no liquor was detected.

Zimmerman Sets Fresh Half Mile Bicycle Record At Hampden Park
A. A. Zimmerman of the New York Athletic Club lowered the half mile ordinary bicycle record to 1:10% in a timed trial at Hampden Park. The previous mark was 1:104-6 by William W. Windle of Peoria last fall. Zimmerman was paced by Charles Murphy and A. B. Rich, with Rich slightly hindering him on the final quarter. He plans another trial Saturday evening. W. F. Murphy attempted the two mile safety record, clocking 5:31 without pacers and will try again with pace-makers Saturday evening. The track was reported in excellent condition.
