Cape May New Jersey August 11 Hon Samuel Fessenden recovering from a fracture of the right thigh sustained while fishing off Chincoteague Virginia last Friday in company with Senator Quay and others. He is improving at the Stockton Hotel. Messages of condolence arrive including from J G Blaine and J G Clarkson expressing sympathy and wishes for a speedy recovery.
Lewis Gebhard Reed, U S consul at Barbadoes, W I, is replaced by E A Dimmick a dentist from Newburyport Mass who has long practiced on the island. Dimmick’s appointment was delayed due to his wife being Gail Hamilton niece to Abigail Dodge and connected with James G Blaine. Reed served four years and will return to Brooklyn later this month.
Greensburg Penn Aug 11 another outbreak is expected at the Hecla Coke Works in the morning. Huns at Mammoth met last night to renew the fight and stop workers from going to Hecla and other local works. A forty man posse with rifles was organized and sent to Hecla. An assistant superintendent arrived and said the mob is highly excited.

Vermont sees fair weather with a slight rise in temperature and winds turning to the south. Massachusetts Rhode Island and Connecticut expect fair conditions with small temperature changes and northerly winds. Eastern New York will be fair then showers Monday night or Tuesday with little temperature change and northerly winds.
