Steamship Saxonia of the Cunard line docked in East Boston with 586 passengers 169 saloon 112 second cabin and 305 steerage. Notable names include Mr F H Prince Mrs Prince and actor Robert Mantell among the saloon party. Captain John Pritchard praised the vessel’s calm passage through heavy weather. An insane man identified as Lawrence was found among cabin passengers and to be sent to England.

Yesterday's strong ground fish receipts eased shortages with eleven smacks bringing 203,800 pounds of haddock and cod to the wharf. Steamship Whitehead Runs Aground Off Boston Harbor

Whitehead from Archangel Russia ran ashore between George's Island and Nix's Mate after steering gear failure yesterday afternoon. Expressmen Summoned for Obstructing Devonshire Street

Fourteen expressmen from general express offices at 14 and 16 Devonshire Street are summoned to court next Tuesday to answer a charge of obstructing traffic on Devonshire Street. The offices host about forty five express companies with J. Bishop as head at 14 Devonshire Street and R. J. Kelly across the street. The express men allege police pressure aims to push them from the location, with Captain Foster of Station 2 declining comment beyond stating officers are performing their duty.

Governor Crane Visits Fort Rodman Reviewing First U S Artillery

Laborer and cyclist collide with electric car

John Liberty, a county courthouse laborer, was in a bicycle collision with an electric car yesterday, breaking his nose. Emergency Hospital treated John Keley 60 of Liverpool Street for a kissing bug bite. P Schriftgiesser hosted an opening at 11 Davis Street with many friends. George Schwab reported a burglary at 13 Laconia Street, claiming two silver pitchers, two butter dishes, and other silverware were taken by an unknown man who worked at his house.

St Marys Field Day Ends With College Team Victory

The St Marys Church of the Annunciation held a midsummer reunion at Lake Walden in Cambridgeport. At 3:30 P.M. a baseball game pitted St Thomas Aquinas College against the Aquinas Cadets, ending after nine innings with a 10 to 7 win for the college team.
