Mileage tickets and New England pensioners listed in rail case
Boston and Maine railroad must detach coupons equal to actual distance traveled on mileage tickets. The mileage table is deemed arbitrary and not a true reflection of distances. The decision applies to all prior issued tickets with three coupons for trips under three miles. fractions count as a mile. Also lists New England pensioners by state with names.

Hall Appears Before Judge Over Embezzlement Charge
Benjamin Hall faced Municipal Court Judge Parmenter on a charge of embezzling 436 dollars from the Boston Industrial Home at Davis Street and Harrison Avenue. He had used the funds paid for food during a lengthy period when the home supplied meals deemed unusable. As foreman of the wood yard he argued a contract existed and the court dismissed the case as not within criminal law.
