Joseph J Kilcourse of 24 Plumer Street Everett won a Ford touring car in the Ford a Day contest after he answered his wife’s urging. The car was delivered yesterday to the Everett resident for his story New Mail Service.
London Aug. 6 bulletin says Lord Northcliffe's condition is much the same as Saturday. He remains in a grave state with much anxiety over recovery chances.
Mrs. Mary Petlem, 42, of North Walpole, driven to hysteria after a quarrel with her husband, ran from her home near the New Haven railroad tracks and plunged onto a Boston bound eight o’clock train. She was killed instantly as the locomotive approached.

Frederick W. Birge of Middlebury Vermont, a 53 year old farmer crippled by infantile paralysis since age 14, may walk again on August 15 after removal of a full body plaster cast and new braces. Surgeons report the longest paralysis to recovery in their experience. Birge has managed a 60 acre farm from a chair and supported himself and his sister.
