Five Lost Off Barge Near New Bedford
The barge Florrie, towed by the Boswell, foundered between Barnegat and Fire Island in a NE storm. Captain Cobb and one deckhand were saved. Mrs. Cobb, a 10-year-old son, a boy named Jones, plus the barge crew including an engineer and cook, were lost with the vessel.
