Jacob Harris of 70 Pearl Street Charlestown killed himself by jumping from the seventh floor of the Winthrop building on Water Street after leaving a farewell letter and last pennies. Despondency from ill health and business reverses cited as cause. he died en route to Massachusetts General Hospital. Harris, a Hebrew who married a Christian, was an advertising agent for The Maine Central.

He had lived with his wife Mrs Harris and two children at 70 Pearl Street Charlestown with a lodging house keeper, Mrs Orne, for several years. He visited the Parker House and a broker before going to the Whitehead Hoag office where he wrote a final note for his wife. His wifeows hysteria and sister reportedly reside in an apartment hotel in Westland avenue.

Shoe dealer arrested after alleged assault at Leverett Street shop

Alderman Bribery Case Heard By Suffolk Grand Jury
