Explosion Destroys Sanford Mills Storehouse Causing 20000 Damage

A mill storehouse at Sanford mills exploded sending iron barrels and bricks flying over a wide area. The blast damaged surrounding buildings and caused about 20000 in losses as a naphtha solvent mixture inside the barrels was involved.

Explosion Destroys Plant Storehouse in Empty Building

A blast at an artificial leather plant wrecked a one story brick storehouse after days of shutdown. The cause is unknown. The wall three sides blew out, the roof flew 50 feet, and 25 of 50 lamp black barrels exploded. Fifty barrels of mixture and 10 gallons of cellulose were in the building. debris shattered 500 panes in the main factory.
