Dozens of speakers occupied the Boston Common with debates and sermons as David Goldstein of the Social Democrats attacked the British Voters Association calling it a secret group. The scene included varied topics from religion to politics with police keeping order and Debs banners visible.

Captain Devlin Funeral Plans For Tuesday Service

Captain George A. Devlin, military editor of the Post, died suddenly at Lawrence. His body arrived at 62 Sawyer Avenue Dorchester. Requiem mass will be held Tuesday at 10 AM at St. Peter's Church Meeting House Hill. Interment at Mt Wollaston Cemetery with Boston Press Club and fellow organizations represented.

Two Men Killed as Bank Collapse Traps Workers at School Site

In West Liberty an embankment caved in yesterday, burying Delbert Grimes and Alvin Spellman who were finishing an excavation for a new Toledo school building. Grimes left a wife, Spellman was unmarried.

Colonel Richardson Dead in Hot Springs Arkansas

Colonel L N Richardson aged 74 died of a complication of diseases in Hot Springs Arkansas. He headed the Hot Springs railroad until his death and earlier partnered with Diamond Joe Reynolds in a St Louis to St. Falls steamboat line. He was a thirty third degree mason.

Cuban Teachers Attend Church Event and Hidden Dance

Four special cars carried over 200 Cuban men and women teachers to the Church of the Immaculate Conception for morning services. The excursion returned to Memorial Hall for lunch. A surprise Cuban dance at Miss Bertha Hayward's Story Street home followed, with music and refreshments, described as lively and popular among the Cuban guests.

Holyoke and OGara Appointed to Notify Stevenson

Holyoke and John O Gara of Spencer depart for the West to fulfill committee duties named at the Kansas City national convention. O Gara will notify Bryan and Callahan will notify Stevenson for whom he voted on the first ballot. O Gara shifted from Bryan to Stevenson on the second ballot and has long backed Bryan since the Chicago convention. Both declined to vote for Towne for Vice President due to Towne's recent switch to Democracy.
