Washington Aug 5 The House adjourned a tame session after resuming in committee of the whole on the Durborow World Columbian Exposition bill The substitute offering silver coinage was defeated and the Durborow bill passed 131 to 83 with a list of Yeas and Nays including Andrew Atkinson and Durborow against a long opposing roster led by Alexander Bacon and Breckinridge The report closed with continued debate on the Fourth Page.

Brighton cattleman gored by bull aboard steamer Palestine

James Ring aged 45 of Oakland Street Brighton narrowly escaped death after a bull charged him while penning cattle on board the steamer Palestine. He jumped under a head board feet first. horns opened flesh to the bone above the right eye. Fireman restrained the bull. Ring was taken to City Hospital with the horns still protruding. He alleges coworkers offered no help, blaming cowardice or heartlessness. recovery is doubtful.

Stevenson Tours Frankfort in Political Visit

The Hon Adlai Stevenson J S Bowing and a legislative committee with Louisville citizens traveled to Frankfort. They arrived around 11 and at 12 30 the joint session and House of Representatives assembled. Stevenson was introduced by Governor Brown and spoke about his old Kentucky home and the welcome before turning to politics.

Trampled Boy Sent to Hospital After Beverly Accident

Harry Pierce aged 14 riding for American Express jumped from a team near a grocery wagon driven by A. H. Davenport. He was trampled and run over, suffering a scalp wound and a skull fracture. He was taken to Weverly Hospital with slight hopes for recovery.
