Revision of the carpenters and joiners' constitution discussed

At Curcaco August 5 the carpenters and joiners convention reviewed a biennial president's report and set a committee to respond. The general secretary urged revising the constitution and bylaws. The afternoon session turned to the revision with many suggestions but little progress. The old charter was nearly scrapped and the eight hour rule featured prominently, with six articles adopted and completion expected tomorrow. The initiation fee to start at five dollars.

Leary raft reaches Hempstead Bay after voyage from Joggins

The Leary raft passed the harbor mouth at five o clock and sailed about four miles per hour. By six o clock it arrived in Hempstead Bay under tow by the tugs E Herperhausen and Haviland and anchored for the night. Originating from Joggins two months earlier, the raft consisted of seventeen 100 by 25 by 35 foot sections. reports say four sections were lost before rounding Cape Cod while the remaining thirteen were in fair condition.

Man Goes Berserk at Mansion House Stabbing Two Maids
