District Attorney Whitman rushed to Boston and declared the Rosenthal killers found. Idelig and "Lefty Louie" are believed located as part of the operatives involved in the case.

Detectives Surround Two More Band Members in Catskills

New York detectives say two other band members are in hiding in Boston along with Mrs. Bassi. Whitman pursues the fugitives Louis Rosenberg known as Lefty Louie and Jack Zelig in connection with the Herman Rosenthal murder. Whitman left New York by midnight train to pursue the case independently of the New York police.

College Girl Dies by Own Action in South End Home

Miss Lillian V. Silver, 18, a Smith College student, died after inhaling gas at 740 Harrison Ave. The medical examiner labeled it death by own action while temporarily insane from overwork. She had worked as a waiter and in Scollay Square to fund college studies. Her mother found her, rosary in hand, after a gas odor was noticed. The report notes no note was left.

The Senate tonight confirmed William H. Parker of Massachusetts as assistant appraiser at Boston. The action was announced from Washington on August 2.

Vicious rat on guard in room at lodging house

August 2 Haverhill police led by Patrolman Blanchard respond to Grove street lodging house where a chained three foot rat in Peter Jennings Greek's room attacked officers and threatened the landlady. The rat was killed after a struggle as Jennings claimed his letters and clothing had been ransacked.

Thieves entered Oscar Johnson's Marshall street residence in Water town yesterday afternoon and stole over $100 in valuables. The family was away. upon returning at night they found furniture scattered and valuables missing in the busy Whiting Park district.

Grace declared not guilty in husband shooting case

In Atlanta on August 2 a jury acquitted Mrs Daisy Ulrich Opie Grace of shooting her husband. She cried God bless you to the crowd as lawyers steadied her, while spectators cheered and many women wept in the courtroom.

Grace found not guilty in murder trial after dramatic testimony

Mrs Grace saluted the 12 jurors with thanks and tears after a verdict that found the state failed to prove she drugged and shot her husband to collect $25 000 insurance. Somerville Woman Miraculously Escapes After Car Runs Over

Mrs. John H. Stevens of 194 Holland Street Somerville sister in law of State Treasurer Elmer A Stevens was knocked down and run over by a heavy semi convertible electric car on Holland Street near Gorham Street. She lay under the car for twenty minutes before extraction and was taken to Somerville Hospital with a fractured elbow and scalp wounds though no internal injuries were reported. The incident occurred as two Pleasant Street semi convertible cars approached and a confusion led her to step in front of the inward bound car and back into the path of the other electric car operated by Motorman George Smith and Conductor Charles Witham.

Marines Sail from Cuba for Boston

Three American naval vessels sailed for the United States today from Caimanera Cuba. The refrigerator ship Celtic carried 280 marines bound for Boston while the collier Febanon headed for Philadelphia and the hospital ship Solace set course for New York.

Joy riders chase ends in crash injuring three

A four mile chase through Jamai caway and the Fenway by police cars ended in a crash on Agassiz road near Henemway street. James D. Motherway of 127 Pembroke street suffered internal injuries and scalp wounds. George Le Collins of New York and Max Frank of 272 Columbus avenue were also hospitalized with rib, knee and head injuries.

Five arrested after Jamaica Plain car chase ends in crash

August Brown and Lewis J. Munroe among five men in Motherway’s car who fled police at 50 mph on Olmsted avenue Jamaica Plain. Officers fired warning shots. all five were injured or shaken but not fatally, and will face arraignment for intoxication.
