The toll from Colorado's industrial conflict rises to at least nine lives with seven guards and one striker dead at Forbes and one militiaman killed at Walsenburg. Forbes camp buildings were left in ruins after an early morning attack led by strikers.
Seven fires in the west end tenement district kept Lynn firefighters busy from 8:30 to 10 last night. All fires are believed incendiary in origin with total property damage under $100.
Panic grips a crowded district as three alarms from Box 5% so bottle the blaze near Vine and Stickney Streets. Fires erupt within a quarter mile, six of seven in tenement cellars started by oil soaked rags. A suspicious young man fled the first scene with a bundle of rags and an oil can.
