Amherst Sabrina banquet honors statue tradition at Worthy

The Amherst College sophomore class held a Sabrina banquet at the Worthy last night with eighty sophomores and two seniors present. The Sabrina statue was produced and every guest kissed her as part of the old college rite dating back to 18. The statue has been handed down through even year graduating classes, with four exceptions.

A boisterous Amherst College event featured seventy boys kissing a bronze statue of Sabrina. The class of 1891 staged a banquet after a dormitory raid. a procession to a nearby rail line and a collector train marked the festivities. Officers named include President W. A. Anderson and Vice President Warren J. Burke.
