Shipping underway as coal fleet moves into port amid easterly gale
A large convoy of coal schooners and ocean tugs returned to Viney Haven and Cape Cod harbors as an Easterly wind of eleven miles per hour eased. The George W Wells towed in by Teaser and the Fleanor A Percy began to clear for sea, while steamers Berks and Reading with barges join 12 tugs heading shoreward. The fleet promises about 6 000 tons of coal discharged, with more schooners expected to follow, easing a looming coal famine.

Three Masted Schooner sale and harbor notes prompt
The Frank W. Howe sailing to Brunswick to load pine lumber is reportedly sold in San Francisco, while the Susie M. Plummer meets a similar fate. Vessels at the pier bring haddock cargo and coal barges. Old frigates and tug crews are noted amid a bustling harbor scene with plans for a May move of the Minnesota and other craft.
